Knitting prints: Yarn combination in stripe structures (AW)

Our team has been preparing our next SS collection, so we have been thinking a lot about colors, fabrics, knitting structures. Everyday we discover something new, it can be overwhelming at times but the excitement never dies.

My recent interest is leopard prints and stripes. Sadly, we don’t have much leopard prints in our collection, but we have a series of very unique stripes & borders. I will show you some of our SPECIAL STRIPES of our recent collection!

MALIA x MALIA BOUCLE single jacquard

The white sections uses MALIA BOUCLE, which introduce texture to the general piece. If the entire fabric used MALIA BOUCLE, it would lead to a heavier, bulkier piece, which may lose the intricacy of the block texture of the print. The narrow block pattern prevents snagging while utilizing the material lightness of the single jacquard.

BOND x PATIO holding position

The red base combines a felted BOND yarn with PATIO, an unshrinking alpaca blend, creating a striking contrast between the two textures that gives an embossed effect. Typically, the holding position technique is employed to create floating areas within a fabric. However, in this case, we have shrunk the floating areas while expanding the connecting ones.

CHARON racked stitch

Last but not least, this is my favorite textile of this collection. A full rib racked stitch, which changes ply count at every set (1PLY & 2PLY). This alternation gives the fabric a delicate transparency while maintaining the fabric’s drape. The racked effect also creates a flowy direction to the stitches.

It’s exciting to see the different patterns with yarns. There are many ways to add pattern to a fabric other than the jacquard.
